Natural vinegar for cleaning
Doing laundry, cooking, washing dishes, mopping the floor, wiping windows…there are so many household chores to be completed daily. With a good helper, cleaning can be done effectively and efficiently. Leftover orange or lemon peels, and herbs can be turned into environmentally-friendly cleaning agent. Not only can it effectively remove stains and odours, it also smells fresh.
1. Fill a glass jar (around 32 ounce) with citrus peels and herbs until it is half full.
2. Bring white vinegar to near boiling point, then fill the jar and tighten the seal.
3. Place the jar in a cool place for 25 hours, then strain out the peels and herbs.
4. The natural scented vinegar is now ready for use. When use, dilute the fluid with water in the ratio of 1:1.
1. Heat the mixture in the microwave for a few minutes, let the steam collect in, then wipe the stain using a cloth.
2. Fill the spray bottle with the liquid for wiping the windows, the floor or for dishwashing.
3. Add the diluted mixture into hot water bottle, coffee machine or washing machine, then run a full cycle.
4. Fill the mixture in a small glass jar, cover with plastic wrap and secure with a rubber band. Poke a few holes on thee wrap to attract and catch the insects.
